For this collaborative project each designer was asked to contribute a poem to be featured as part of a collective book. The original poem “You make me feel” expresses deep feelings for my kids, and how they made me feel whole. I wanted to echo the tone of the poem by illustrating type. To do so, I created hand drawn silhouette shapes of my children using henna as well as curvy shapes, leaves and butterflies. Matte handmade paper was used for the spreads, and embossed shapes add tonal effects.
